The collection of Torreon Community Library includes materials in print and electronci formats wselected for its community of users includeing Navajo and non-Tribal patrons. In addtion, in response to advances to technology and the changing information needs of the community, the library also offers access to the Internet, which is governed by the library’s Internet Use Policy. The library uses other available avenues – interlibrary loan, appropriate referral, or redirection – to serve the individual whose needs are either outside the scope of the library’s collection or are remote from the acknowledged collective needs of the community the library primarily serves.
Patron needs and services
The library collection is intended to be highly selective with sufficient support offerings as determined by the Torreon Community Library’s mission, goals, and objectives, and by size and scope.
Materials will include such resouces as:
- Reference materials
- Print and non-fiction
- Up-to-date non-print formats such as DVDs and e-books
- Electronic databases
The language of the collection reflects the languages of the community includeing Navajo and Spanish.
